The HR Manager, Labor and Employee Relations will deploy and execute the labor and employee relations strategy for the CHVAC Field Services organization, and effectively partner with Corporate and Regional leadership, along with human resources and field service teams across the Americas. This role will also be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of labor and employee relations strategies, providing broad support and subject matter expertise and guidance to field HR and service operations leadership teams. The HR Manager, Labor and Employee Relations will build, maintain and promote a positive labor and employee relations environment within the Services organization. This position reports to the Human Resources Leader, CHVAC and will have dual reporting to the Americas Labor Relations / Corporate ISC HR Director.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and execution of Labor and Employee Relations strategies across the Americas region.
  • Support and assist in the deployment of all phases of the collective bargaining process at unionized locations.
  • Deploy effective training curriculum to HR business partners and services leadership on the applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Facilitate the vulnerability assessment process for non-union sites across the Americas region, including the collaborative development of action plans with site human resources and leadership teams.
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and employment policies.
  • Provide guidance and counsel on matters related to labor and employee relations.
  • Deliver training on various labor and employee relations topics to salaried employees in union and non-union environments.
  • Provide counsel to non-union facilities on effective positive employee relations including best practices and techniques.
  • Support the LM-10 process and ensure compliance.
  • Drive a culture of standard work and operational excellence for labor relations processes within the field HR and service teams.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and business leaders to create and maintain an environment that delivers positive employee relations and increases employee engagement.
  • Partnership and communication with internal and external counsel on a variety of labor and employee relations matters.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience of progressive responsibility in labor relations.
  • Strong academic background supported by a bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or I/O Psychology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business needs; the successful candidate must be able to gain confidence of the business leadership team and HR partners.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills are a must.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with and develop effective relationships with all levels of employees, management, and union officials.
  • Ability to effectively lead internal and external audiences to desired outcomes through influence, strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business, financial and people related data and determine appropriate actions.
  • Strong knowledge and application of US employment law and the National Labor Relations Act.
  • HR experience in a union environment is preferred.

  • Ability to deliver training, advise site HR on the administration of labor agreements and implementing positive employee relations strategies.
