About the position

The HR Manager position at CigarPlace.com is a pivotal role that serves as the cornerstone for nurturing the company's talented workforce. As the inaugural HR hire, the HR Manager will be instrumental in shaping the company culture and ensuring the seamless integration of new hires, comprehensive training initiatives, and effective performance management strategies. This role is primarily focused on hiring, training, and performance optimization, fostering a supportive and dynamic environment where every employee can thrive and contribute to the shared success of the organization. In this role, the HR Manager will manage the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and assisting in the selection process. Collaboration with hiring managers is essential to define staffing needs within the eCommerce industry for various positions, including warehousing, customer support, graphic design, marketing, and others. The HR Manager will also create and maintain onboarding and offboarding programs, as well as training programs for new hires, hiring managers, and exiting employees, including conducting exit interviews. Additionally, the HR Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining an ongoing performance management program in conjunction with employee learning and development. The role includes generating basic HR data and analytics to support company decision-making utilizing the company's HRIS/PEO. The HR Manager will work with third-party vendors to develop and administer employee benefits programs, assist employees with HR-related inquiries, and ensure compliance with employment laws, providing support in adherence to the FLSA, ADA, and other state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and assisting in the selection process.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define staffing needs within the eCommerce industry for various positions.
  • Create and maintain onboarding/offboarding and training programs for new hires, hiring managers, and exiting employees.
  • Create and maintain an ongoing performance management program in conjunction with employee learning and development.
  • Generate basic HR data & analytics to support company decision-making utilizing the company's HRIS/PEO.
  • Work with third-party vendors to develop and administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and Paid Time Off (PTO) programs.
  • Assist employees with HR-related inquiries and/or employee relations issues and provide documentation on company SOPs.
  • Oversee the HRIS/PEO and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, company policies and procedures, and onboarding/offboarding information.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, providing support in adherence to the FLSA, ADA, and other state and federal laws.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist/HR Business Partner/HR Manager role.
  • 2+ years of experience managing/creating training curriculum for Hiring Managers.
  • 2+ years of experience in onboarding and offboarding employees.
  • 2+ years using/managing a company HRIS/PEO software.
  • 1+ years of experience specifically in Recruitment/Talent Acquisition.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred but not required.

  • Experience within the eCommerce Industry in talent acquisition for various roles.
  • Experience as the primary HR for a company working in several facets of HR such as Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Technical, and Administration.
  • Experience developing and maintaining onboarding/offboarding programs.
  • Experience developing and maintaining employee performance management programs.
  • Experience developing and maintaining employee learning and development programs.
