The Senior HR Manager at Dollar General in Jonesville, South Carolina, plays a pivotal role in the human resources function within the Trad facilities. This role is crucial in assisting the Director in managing human capital strategy and metrics, ensuring that the organization effectively attracts, retains, and develops its workforce. In this capacity, the Senior HR Manager will lead full life-cycle recruitment efforts for both hourly and exempt roles. This includes creating and executing innovative sourcing strategies to meet the talent needs of the business model. The role also involves leading a team of HR Business Partners, guiding them towards the successful execution of human capital metrics and ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives. The Senior HR Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a market-specific knowledge base that supports the talent needs of the organization, thereby enhancing workforce stability and engagement. Additionally, the Senior HR Manager will manage the employee relations process in collaboration with aligned store support center resources. This includes maintaining an open-door policy and fostering an environment free of organized labor through effective positive employee relations. The role requires a strategic partnership with the Director and Assistant Directors across all buildings, ensuring that HR initiatives align with the operational goals of the organization. The Senior HR Manager will also be responsible for creating and executing retention strategies that promote employee engagement and achieve retention goals, ultimately contributing to a high-performance workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performance team of HR Business Partners
  • Create and maintain a market specific knowledge base that supplies the talent needs of the business model (hourly and exempt positions)
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of retention strategies that promotes employee engagement, delivers workforce stability and achieves retention goals
  • Manage the employee relations process in partnership with aligned store support center resources
  • Responsible for maintaining open door policy and an environment free of organized labor through effective positive employee relations
  • Develop and maintain a strategic partnership with Director and Assistant Directors in all buildings

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal employment laws
  • Ability to mediate between employees during conflict resolution
  • Ability to achieve measurable results through collaboration and influence
  • Exceptional planning, coordination, project management and implementation skills
  • Advanced ability to communicate with employees at all levels (both verbal and written communication skills)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Extensive knowledge of employee relations practices and investigation skills for employee relations cases
