About the position

The Human Resources Manager will support process improvement projects across the organization to enhance morale, safety, people development, and HR functions while ensuring legal compliance. This role is hands-on and requires strong interpersonal skills, as the HR Manager will be the sole HR employee at the facility, managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with the diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR Director to develop leadership on site to achieve organizational goals related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Communicate the implementation of policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support HR compliance and strategy needs.
  • Ensure administration and communication of HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, performance management, and training.
  • Coordinate staffing and recruiting needs and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Deliver reports and metrics from the HRIS or talent management system.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, developing HR best practices and updating policies.
  • Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for the HR team.
  • Provide coaching and support to co-workers to achieve business goals.
  • Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist in administering employee benefit programs and worker's compensation plans.
  • Manage time and attendance records for accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with staffing agencies to meet hiring needs and manage temporary staffing solutions.
  • Submit invoicing for staffing agencies and ensure timely payment processing.
  • Maintain work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions.
  • Prepare employees for assignments by conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees.
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in human resources, Business Administration, Arts, Psychology, or relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of human resource management experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is essential.
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Training in Lean principles desirable.
  • CHRP, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
