About the position

The HR Manager at Care Alliance plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resource Officer, this position is integral to the management team and requires a collaborative leader who can independently assess needs and ensure that HR activities are implemented efficiently and effectively. The HR Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation of strategic HR programs and communications throughout the organization, focusing on areas such as employee engagement, training, talent development, and compensation. In this role, the HR Manager will gather and analyze HR-related data to prepare reports and identify trends, utilizing this information to develop potential solutions that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of HR operations. The position also involves responding to HR concerns, requests, and complaints, including making determinations on Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests and other employee actions, and knowing when to elevate issues. The HR Manager will facilitate and implement all phases of the recruitment process, work with multidisciplinary teams to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation, and support various HR projects such as handbook updates, policy revisions, and wellness activities. Additionally, the HR Manager will provide guidance and support to employees regarding workplace policies and procedures, maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to employment laws, and oversee the credentialing and privileging of providers and staff. The role also includes managing the annual review process and performance management system, conducting exit interviews, and maintaining effective programs for workforce retention and succession planning. In the absence of the CHRO, the HR Manager will act as the department leader.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of strategic HR programs and communications throughout the organization.
  • Gather and analyze HR related data and information to prepare reports and identify HR trends.
  • Respond to HR concerns, requests, and complaints; address FMLA requests and other employee actions.
  • Facilitate and implement all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation and other surveys.
  • Support HR projects such as handbook updates, policy revisions, and wellness activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees at all levels concerning workplace policies and procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of legal requirements authored by government regulatory agencies.
  • Supervise the tracking and updating of Credentialing & Privileging of all providers.
  • Oversee the annual review process and the performance management system.
  • Coordinate and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Maintain effective programs for workforce retention, promotion, and succession planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • Minimum of 5 years' prior experience in an HR leadership role.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, benefits, payroll, recruiting, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Clear understanding of current HR systems, procedures, processes, and methodologies.
  • Non-profit, healthcare, and/or FQHC experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience using HRIS systems, Paylocity preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident public speaker.
