About the position

The HR Manager at Peco Foods is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily operations of the HR team at the Canton, Mississippi location. This role involves designing, planning, and implementing various human resources programs and policies that encompass staffing, immigration, employee relations, and training. A strong understanding of state and federal employment laws is essential to ensure compliance and effective HR practices. The HR Manager will assess the staffing needs of the location and oversee the hiring process in collaboration with HR and operations departments, ensuring that the recruitment, screening, and hiring processes are efficient and effective. In addition to managing the hiring process, the HR Manager will evaluate the effectiveness of HR processes and bring strategic insights to enhance hiring and other HR functions. This includes maintaining the Applicant Flow log and ensuring compliance with AAP/EEO1 submissions. The HR Manager will also participate in various committees to provide insights on team member processes and their relation to audit information. A key aspect of this role is to ensure that all team members are aware of and comply with corporate and plant policies and practices. The HR Manager will lead investigations into team member complaints related to harassment, workplace violence, and other job-related issues. They will actively participate in retention plans and facilitate team member roundtables to foster a positive work environment. The role requires a strong working knowledge of government agencies and programs, including OSHA, DEQ, EEOC, and others, to assist in implementing plant safety programs. The HR Manager will also be responsible for driving team member development and training initiatives, ensuring that all HR activities align with Peco's vision, mission, and core values.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the daily output and results of the HR team.
  • Design, plan, and implement human resources programs and policies for staffing, immigration, employee relations, and training.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of hiring and other HR processes.
  • Assist in recruiting, screening, and hiring all hourly and clerical/administrative job openings.
  • Ensure maintenance of Applicant Flow log and AAP/EEO1 submissions.
  • Participate in SWA, BRC to provide insights on Team Member processes and their relation to audit information.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate and plant policies/practices.
  • Lead investigation of team member complaints and issues related to harassment and workplace violence.
  • Actively participate in retention plans and actions.
  • Facilitate team member roundtables.
  • Evaluate key metrics to safeguard effective processes within the HR team.
  • Assist in implementation of all plant safety programs.
  • Perform various special projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources, Plant Manager, and HR Manager.

Requirements

  • Previous human resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • At least five years of experience in a related area as an individual contributor.
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong communication and engagement skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in management or supervisory duties preferred.
