We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Onboarding and Safety Specialist to join our team at Guapo's Restaurant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and effective onboarding process and safety orientation for all new employees, from pre-hire to day one and beyond. This includes coordinating all aspects of the onboarding process and safety orientation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and providing exceptional customer service to new hires. Your duties will involve assisting with recruitment efforts by distributing applications and other relevant documents to different departments within the organization, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. You will coordinate with restaurant management teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new hires, which includes scheduling onboarding and new hire orientation, processing new hire paperwork, and maintaining applicant tracking records for all 10 restaurants. You will prepare orientation materials, including presentations, handouts, and documents required for onboarding and safety orientation. Conducting safety orientation sessions for new hires will be a key responsibility, ensuring they receive comprehensive training on workplace safety procedures, emergency protocols, and hazard awareness. You will also address any safety-related questions or concerns new hires may have during the orientation process, providing clear and accurate information. Additionally, you will add new hires to the payroll system and ensure that all new hire paperwork is accurately filled out and filed prior to entering the new hire's information into the system. You will answer any questions new hires may have regarding company policies, benefits, and procedures during the orientation process and after, providing ongoing support to new hires during their initial days of employment, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise and facilitating a smooth transition into their roles. Collaboration with various departments to organize department-specific orientations or training sessions as needed will also be part of your role. You will maintain physical records of all orientation materials, ensuring they are up to date and readily accessible, including training records and reports. Furthermore, you will assist HR team members with administrative tasks, such as processing employee documents and updating employee records. Staying updated on company policies, procedures, and best practices related to orientation and onboarding will be essential, as well as implementing changes as necessary to ensure compliance and effectiveness. You will also assist with other mandatory and non-mandatory training for employees, such as sexual harassment and discrimination prevention training, workplace violence prevention training, customer service training, communication and conflict resolution training, and workplace safety and emergency procedures training among others. Staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to workplace safety will be crucial, incorporating new information into safety orientation materials and sessions as necessary. Lastly, you will support HR projects, including open enrollment, special events, employee engagement activities, company Christmas parties, and meetings, while performing other administrative tasks as needed.
