About the position

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic and self-motivated HR Onboarding Specialist to join their Human Resources team. Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and processing of new hires in the human resources information system (HRIS).
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of personnel files, including I-9 forms, background checks, and drug testing documentation.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Review HRIS to identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies related to new hire preparation and processing.
  • Provide support to new hire employees with self-service inquiries or issues related to the HRIS.
  • Collaborate on writing and updating accurate job descriptions for active roles within the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR or related role focused on onboarding or employee experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices specific to I-9 and E-Verify.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
