About the position

The Human Resources Onboarding Specialist plays a crucial role in the pre-employment process, primarily supporting candidates and hiring managers. This position is designed to enhance data quality and drive the adoption of best practices through effective data validation at the point of entry. The Onboarding Specialist will also be instrumental in promoting self-service tool adoption to minimize manual processes and will actively participate in process improvement initiatives. This role is essential for the HR Services organization to achieve its goals related to productivity, quality of service, and overall effectiveness. In this hybrid position based in Davidson, NC, the Onboarding Specialist will manage the background verification process, ensuring timely communication with candidates and collaboration with various stakeholders, including North America Talent Acquisition, Human Resources Business Partners, and Legal. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can maintain confidentiality and has a strong data-driven mindset. The Onboarding Specialist will also be responsible for developing and documenting standard operating procedures and training materials for the Onboarding team and partners across the organization, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new employees.

Responsibilities

  • Supports candidates and hiring managers during the onboarding process, starting at the point when an offer is accepted through to the new employee's first few weeks at the company.
  • Manages the background verifications process, providing timely communication with candidates.
  • Works with North America Talent Acquisition, Human Resources Business Partners, and Legal to facilitate the onboarding process.
  • Provides flexible support across the HR Solutions team to help balance workloads and ensure backup for other activities outside pre-employment.
  • Understands HR technology and data structures along with the impacts of transaction processing.
  • Develops and documents standard operating procedures and training materials for the onboarding team and partners across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or analytics related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee information is required.
  • Experience with Human Resources information systems required (e.g., PeopleSoft, Taleo, ServiceNow).
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented and precise with a focus on execution.
  • Data-driven mindset and strong demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with business partners to understand needs and create solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience with HRIS (Preferred)
