About the position

As an HR Operations Coordinator at BJ's Wholesale Club, you will play a vital role in supporting the administrative functions within the club. This position requires full open availability and involves participating in the hiring process, facilitating team member orientation, and assisting with benefit enrollment. You will be responsible for maintaining HR records, filing, and ensuring effective communication with team members. Additionally, you will oversee comprehensive scheduling processes and manage club payroll to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Your responsibilities will extend to conducting new team member orientations, tracking training for all new hires, and acting as the on-site administrator for the intranet-based training and communications system. You will also control scheduling processes for hourly team members and ensure that payroll is completed accurately and on time. Maintaining the performance management process, disciplinary logs, and administering personnel paperwork, including new hire documentation and wage increases, will also be part of your duties. In this role, you will support talent acquisition efforts by ensuring recruitment marketing materials meet GOLD standards and by partnering with local community organizations. You will conduct benefit orientations and facilitate communication regarding the annual benefits open enrollment process. Additionally, you will process leaves of absence in coordination with specialists and maintain team member personnel and medical files. Handling confidential information with care and addressing team member relations issues will be essential to your success in this position. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal postings and conducting HR self-audits for operational audits.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in weekly meetings with CoE and sets up 2nd interviews for Club Manager/Assistant Club Manager.
  • Conducts new Team Member orientation and tracks training for all new hires.
  • Acts as the on-site administrator of intranet-based training and communications system.
  • Controls comprehensive scheduling processes for all hourly Team Members.
  • Ensures club payroll is completed accurately and timely weekly.
  • Maintains club performance management process and corresponding logs.
  • Administers all personnel paperwork, including new hire paperwork and terminations.
  • Supports club talent acquisition efforts and ensures recruitment marketing materials are set to GOLD standards.
  • Conducts benefit orientations and facilitates communication of annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Processes LOAs in coordination with LOA Specialist and outside vendor.
  • Maintains Team Member personnel and medical files.
  • Answers Team Member questions or directs them to appropriate resources.
  • Addresses non-complex team member relations issues and escalates as appropriate.
  • Handles Team Member confidential information with care.
  • Ensures GOLD standard presentation of breakroom and HR office area daily.
  • Provides support for team member recognition and engagement events.
  • Ensures all legal compliance postings are current.
  • Responsible for HR self-audits for overall club operational audit.
  • Attends meetings with Regional HR Business Partner and Home Office.
  • Maintains all HR communication boards.
  • Handles additional administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Prior Human Resources, administrative, or clerical experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, Email) required.
