About the position

The HR Operations Coordinator at Spectrum Brands plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources Business Partner teams by providing comprehensive HR services to both managers and employees. This position encompasses a wide range of HR tasks, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and communication. The HR Operations Coordinator is expected to handle complex HR issues with empathy and clarity, ensuring a positive and productive workplace that aligns with company policies. In this role, the coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and preparing HR reports, acting as a liaison to HR Center Led Teams such as talent acquisition, total rewards, HRIS, and payroll. The position requires a proactive approach to managing employee changes in Workday, ensuring data integrity, and developing various HRIS reports, including HR KPIs, compensation, new hire, and termination reports. The coordinator will also create and maintain organizational charts, provide customer service to employees on various HR issues, and assist with the administration of the performance management process. Additionally, the HR Operations Coordinator will administer the Tuition Reimbursement program, respond to employment verification requests, conduct exit interviews, and coordinate the exit process for terminating employees. The role also involves managing unemployment claims and ensuring timely payment of invoices. The coordinator will partner with HR Business Partners to support employee leave processes, including ADA and FMLA, and will be involved in various HR Business Partner projects and activities. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of HR operations and supporting the overall HR strategy of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Key employee changes in Workday, ensuring data integrity.
  • Develop and prepare HRIS reports, including HR KPIs, compensation, new hire, and termination reports.
  • Create, update, and maintain organizational charts.
  • Provide customer service to employees on various HR issues and escalate to appropriate HR staff when necessary.
  • Assist with the administration of the performance management process, maintaining accurate records and data accuracy.
  • Administer the Tuition Reimbursement program.
  • Respond to employment verification requests.
  • Conduct exit interviews for terminating employees and coordinate the exit process.
  • Prepare documents for data entry of employee changes and terminations.
  • Assist with HR Business Partner projects and associated activities.
  • Administer the selection process for training and provide On-Demand training system administration.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage unemployment claims via Equifax Case builder.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Partner with HRBP to support employee leave processes (ADA, FMLA, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a Human Resources environment.
  • Experience with Workday, Ceridian Dayforce, or other HRIS is a plus.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently under general instructions on a wide variety of special projects, completing assignments within deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines.
  • High level of organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of various MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Capacity and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HRIS systems other than Workday or Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and regulations.
