About the position

Bay Cove Human Services' mission is to partner with people to overcome challenges and realize personal potential. The Human Resources Operations Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the HR department by providing a range of operational and administrative support. This position is responsible for conducting audits, reviewing CORI, maintaining employee files, conducting exit interviews, and ensuring the organization and monitoring of various HR functions. The HR Operations Generalist is expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements, responding to inquiries related to human resources and providing guidance on personnel policies and procedures. In this role, the Generalist will process complaints regarding workplace harassment, including sexual harassment and discrimination, and assist in necessary investigations and disciplinary actions. They will also manage employee personnel records, act as the lead CORI reviewer to ensure agency compliance with applicable regulations, and assist with processing accommodation requests, workers' compensation, and unemployment requests. The Generalist will be responsible for managing agency audits, including data retrieval and kick-off meetings, and will act as a backup to the talent acquisition generalist. Additionally, the HR Operations Generalist will participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements. They will suggest new procedures and policies to improve employee experience and the efficiency of the HR department. Compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws is essential, and the Generalist will update policies and procedures as necessary. They will also handle all exit interviews, ensuring data entry in HRIS and audits for accuracy and compliance, and contribute to the communication and upkeep of the employee handbook, directory, and organizational chart.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
  • Process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain employee personnel records.
  • Act as the lead CORI reviewer using all applicable rules and regulations to ensure agency compliance, including EEOHS, DDS and DPPC regulations.
  • Assist with processing accommodation requests, workers compensation and unemployment requests.
  • Manage agency audits including data retrieval, kick off meetings and other related tasks.
  • Act as the backup to the talent acquisition generalist.
  • Assist with licensure and certification tracking.
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of HR department and company.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years human resources experience.
  • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook).
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field.
  • Understanding of state and federal employment regulations.
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
