About the position

The HR Operations Manager II for US Leave & Disability Benefits at TD Bank is responsible for leading a team that manages leave of absence and disability benefits operational functions. This role involves providing subject matter expertise, guidance, and leadership to ensure effective process workflows, regulatory compliance, and the achievement of operational results. The manager will oversee a diverse team, handle complex transactions, and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to deliver optimal customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a group of leave of absence and disability benefits operational functions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and operational guidance to ensure excellent operational results.
  • Manage a large team with functional diversity and complexity, overseeing multiple step transactions and systems.
  • Act as the highest point of team escalation for resolution and provide direction to resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements and align with business priorities.
  • Monitor service and control standards against overall business objectives.
  • Coach employees to handle operational problems appropriately and participate in the resolution of complex issues.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in effective relationship management.
  • People management experience required.
  • Broad knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Experience with MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, MS Word, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated operational expertise in designing and administering operational excellence standards.
  • Strong aptitude for leadership and problem-solving, including technical acumen.
  • Subject matter expertise in the US absence space, including leave, disability, and time off.
