About the position

The Group Manager II, HR Operations is responsible for leading a team focused on leave of absence and disability benefits operational functions. This role involves providing subject matter expertise, guidance, and leadership to ensure effective process workflows, regulatory compliance, and the achievement of professional development objectives. The manager will oversee a diverse team, manage complex operational activities, and ensure excellent operational results while promoting teamwork and employee development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team managing leave of absence and disability benefits operational functions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and operational guidance to ensure effective process workflows.
  • Manage employee performance, set goals, and handle disciplinary actions as required.
  • Oversee a large team with functional diversity and complexity, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Act as the highest point of escalation for team issues and provide direction for resolution.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Contribute to the development and operationalization of the business plan.
  • Monitor service and control standards against business objectives.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to standards.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in HR operations or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with sound judgment in problem resolution.
  • Proven experience in effective relationship management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment with changing priorities.
  • People management experience is required.
  • Broad knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in implementing technical policy requirements and legal compliance.
  • Strong aptitude for leadership and problem-solving with advanced communication skills.
