About the position

The HR Operations Manager II for US Leave & Disability Benefits at TD Bank is responsible for leading a team that manages leave of absence and disability benefits operations. This role involves providing subject matter expertise, ensuring compliance with regulations, and achieving operational excellence. The manager will oversee a diverse team, set goals, develop staff, and handle performance management while maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team managing leave of absence and disability benefits operations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and operational guidance to ensure excellent results.
  • Hire and develop talent, manage performance, and promote teamwork.
  • Oversee complex operational functions involving multiple systems and jurisdictions.
  • Act as the highest point of escalation for team issues and provide direction for resolution.
  • Monitor service and control standards against business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with partners for optimal customer service.
  • Contribute to the development and operationalization of the business plan.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives and support adherence to standards.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in HR operations or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Proven experience in relationship management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • People management experience is required.
  • Broad knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated project and process management skills.

  • Operational expertise in designing and administering operational excellence standards.
  • Experience with legal rules and regulations related to HR operations.
  • Strong aptitude for leadership and problem-solving in complex environments.
