About the position

The HR Operations Manager II for US Leave & Disability Benefits is responsible for leading a team that manages leave of absence and disability benefits operations. This role involves providing subject matter expertise, ensuring compliance with regulations, and achieving operational excellence. The manager will oversee a diverse team, set goals, and develop staff while maintaining effective process workflows and managing performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team managing leave of absence and disability benefits operations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and operational guidance to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Hire, develop, and manage team performance, including setting goals and handling disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee complex operational functions involving multiple systems and jurisdictions.
  • Act as the highest point of escalation for team issues and provide direction for resolution.
  • Monitor service and control standards to meet business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to enhance customer service.
  • Coordinate with HR, Technology, Finance, and Risk Management to implement new processes and technologies.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in HR operations or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with sound judgment in problem resolution.
  • Proven experience in relationship management and team leadership.
  • Broad knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
