Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. The HR Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day HR operations to ensure that the department's processes and support programs are running smoothly. This includes managing the company's drug testing program, background checks, compliance with new hire documentation, recruitment coordination, and other support efforts for the HR organization. The HR Operations Manager will work closely with HR leaders both at the Support Center and at various regional locations in Alaska and the Lower 48 states. The HR Operations Manager will provide strategic and operational direction over daily HR activities, ensuring that processes deliver quality data and comply with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements. This role involves designing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency, managing the development of team members, and fostering a problem-solving culture. The manager will also oversee relationships with external vendors, ensuring cost savings and operational efficiency. Additionally, the HR Operations Manager will maintain accurate employee records in compliance with data privacy regulations and provide operational support for performance management and compliance audits. This position is salaried and offers a competitive annualized salary range of $129,000 to $151,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day HR operations to ensure smooth processes and support programs.
  • Manage the company's drug testing program and background checks.
  • Ensure compliance with new hire documentation and storage.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts and support HR initiatives.
  • Provide strategic and operational direction over daily HR activities.
  • Design and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage the development and performance of team members.
  • Remove roadblocks and encourage effective communication within the team.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and seek cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records in compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Provide operational support for performance management and compliance audits.
  • Accountable for tracking spending and ensuring alignment with budgets for programs and projects.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR.
  • A minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR process improvements and SOPs.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR software.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Knowledge of DOT drug testing requirements.
  • Experience managing external vendor relationships.
