About the position

This hybrid role is focused on managing the daily operations of HR systems, benefits, payroll, and compliance at Grindr. The position requires a strategic mindset and a strong foundation in HR operations, ensuring that all processes align with organizational goals and regulatory standards. The individual will collaborate closely with the Head of People and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and provide high-quality service to employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage HR systems (HRIS) to ensure data accuracy, integration, and ease of use.
  • Act as the primary contact for HRIS system maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Lead benefits administration, including open enrollment, employee inquiries, and vendor management.
  • Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll for all employees.
  • Coordinate with finance to oversee payroll funding, deductions, tax filings, and reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to HR administration, benefits, payroll, and employee records.
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, onboarding/offboarding, and policy updates.
  • Collaborate with finance and payroll providers to address payroll-related inquiries and ensure seamless processes.
  • Provide data and reports to leadership on HR operations, payroll metrics, benefits utilization, and system performance.
  • Assist in developing and updating company policies, handbooks, and procedures to reflect best practices.
  • Identify and implement best practices in HR operations, benefits, payroll, and administration to support company growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HR operations, benefits, payroll, or systems management.
  • Expertise in HRIS systems and payroll systems, with experience in workflow and integration management.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, with proven experience in payroll processing and reconciliation.
  • Proven experience in benefits administration, including vendor management, compliance, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to HR administration.
  • Proficiency in data reporting tools (e.g., Excel, HRIS reporting) and payroll metrics.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Passionate about creating an inclusive, employee-focused workplace and supporting an engaging employee experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience juggling multiple projects across different verticals.
  • Experience with Bamboo HR (HRIS) and ADP (payroll system).
