About the position

The HR/Operations Manager at Trulee Evanston is responsible for overseeing human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll management, and employee relations. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a positive workplace environment while supporting the operational needs of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Human Resource administrative duties including payroll and maintenance of personnel files.
  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, and supervise concierge staff in accordance with company policy.
  • Manage team member orientation and training, including benefit enrollment and technology troubleshooting.
  • Handle HR-specific questions and employee relations, including documentation of disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate payroll functions, confirming time and attendance and transmitting payroll information to an independent firm.
  • Maintain team member files, base wages, tax withholding, and correspondence with state agencies.
  • Coordinate risk management activities, including worker's compensation claims and maintenance of insurance certificates.
  • Participate in daily meetings to communicate key issues within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and state regulations concerning HR.
  • Assist in community marketing efforts and conduct tours for potential residents.
  • Arrange coverage for job duties during team member absences.
  • Lead the employee recognition program and develop retention strategies.
  • Support a positive professional image through actions and dress.
  • Assist with Yardi and participate in the manager on duty rotation for weekend coverage.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prefer a college degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience or training in accounting duties.
  • Two years' experience in the field preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Ability to learn and master various software programs, including Yardi, Alis, Paylocity, Ultimate, or iCIMS.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and word processing programs.
