About the position

The HR Operations Specialist - Leave of Absence at Truist Bank is responsible for coordinating and managing teammate leave of absence requests in compliance with HR policy, as well as state and federal regulations. This role involves providing guidance and support to teammates during their leave, helping them understand the leave of absence process, their rights, responsibilities, and benefits. The specialist will track and monitor leave time, maintain accurate records, and update stakeholders accordingly. This position is office-centric, requiring the specialist to work four days a week in the office. In this role, the specialist will assist teammates with inquiries and problem resolution in a professional manner, building rapport and providing timely solutions via phone, chat, or email. They will be responsible for case assignments and process work related to accommodations, benefits, payroll, leave of absence, time off, teammate relations matters, and HR policies. The specialist will utilize all available tools and resources, ensuring that all inquiries are documented accurately. As a subject matter expert, they will follow established policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and laws to protect both teammates and Truist from unnecessary risk. The specialist will also help resolve moderate and complex problems within guidelines and policies, inform and educate teammates on self-service options through various Truist technologies, and participate in ongoing training for growth opportunities. Time management skills and attention to detail are essential, as the specialist will follow a daily set schedule and may need to provide education, advice, or counsel to teammates and HR partners on various HR matters. Additionally, the ability to assess risk, resolve issues, and escalate undue burden cases as appropriate is crucial for this position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education and related training or experience.
  • 2 years of experience in HR or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (Windows, MS Office, etc.).
  • Strong technical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently across multiple platforms.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communications, including grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
