About the position

The HR Operations Specialist at Veolia North America serves as the initial point of contact for entering employee data changes and resolving data discrepancies. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of employee information within the HRIS system. The specialist is responsible for recording and tracking employee change forms through Salesforce, a case management tool, ensuring that all changes are monitored from initiation to completion. The incumbent will escalate issues and seek advice when necessary to ensure smooth operations. In this position, the HR Operations Specialist will complete data entry for all employee changes, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and salary adjustments. Accuracy and consistency of data are paramount, as the specialist will work closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to address any questions or issues that arise from employee inquiries via calls or emails. Additionally, the specialist will ensure that employee personnel files are kept up to date with any changes or forms submitted. The role also involves continually monitoring HR operations processes and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The HR Operations Specialist may be assigned other duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of the HR department and the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Completes data entry into the HRIS system for all employee changes including new hires, terminations, transfers, salary adjustments, etc., ensuring accuracy and consistency of data.
  • Works with HRBPs to resolve questions relating to employee data and any issues that arise from calls or email inquiries.
  • Ensures employee personnel files are up to date with any changes/forms and employee information.
  • Continually monitors and recommends ways to make HR operations processes efficient and effective.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred, especially in human resources or customer service fields.
  • 1-2 years of experience in human resources or related fields required.
  • Strong computer skills required, especially in Excel, HRIS systems, and case management tools.
  • Ability to problem solve and research questions effectively.
  • Strong customer service and phone presence skills required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in writing.
  • Maturity in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
