About the position

The Human Resources Operations Specialist at Justice Cannabis Co. is responsible for ensuring efficient HR processes related to HRIS systems, payroll, benefits administration, and leave management. This role involves collaborating with the HR Field Team to optimize HRIS systems for an enhanced employee experience, maintaining data accuracy, and implementing process improvements. The position requires strong communication skills and a solid understanding of HR practices, particularly in payroll and leave of absence laws.

Responsibilities

• Support the field team with HRIS data entry for transactions such as new hires and position changes.
• Administer the approval process for employee life-cycle transactions.
• Process HR transactions in the HRIS, Wurk, and Sharepoint.
• Perform personnel file audits to ensure compliance.
• Train new HR team members on HR systems.
• Assist with HRIS projects and produce state-requested reporting.
• Provide strategic reviews and updates for payroll processes.
• Coordinate all aspects of bi-weekly payrolls for all locations/employees.
• Administer employee benefits programs and maintain contact with benefits vendors.
• Manage the leave administration process and ensure compliance with leave laws.
• Conduct training sessions for employees on compliance and HR policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 6+ years of experience in human resources.
• 401(k) Plan experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (WURK preferred).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in benefits administration and compliance reporting.
• Knowledge of leave of absence laws and regulations.
