About the position

The Payroll Support role within the Human Resources Department focuses on providing comprehensive assistance with payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in tax payments, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This position also involves supporting various HR functions, including audits, employee communication, and project-based work, while upholding a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with all aspects of Payroll, including employee's biweekly pay
  • Ensure accuracy of tax payments
  • Complete spreadsheets for payroll accounting entries and tax recap
  • Process 401(k) contributions, including biweekly employee contributions and monthly employer match contributions
  • Process HSA contributions, including biweekly employee contributions and quarterly employer contributions
  • Track paid leave accruals and usage; audits and employee communication
  • Review and track part-time employee's hours and maintain holiday/exceptions spreadsheet
  • Provide support for audits, surveys, travel arrangements, benefits, recruiting and related administrative processes
  • Provide HR project support & assistance as needed with facilities, company gatherings, wellness, employee relations activities, running errands, and various project-based work
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state posters
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Communicate effectively with management, coworkers and external customers
  • Attend team meetings
  • Take initiative to learn and expand role
  • Perform other tasks and have such other responsibilities as assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent HR experience
  • Ability to work well as a team member and engage others
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proactive, able to anticipate needs and work independently
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to type 25-30 wpm
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
