About the position

As an HR / Payroll Assistant at Rink Management Services Corporation, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources and Payroll Department. This position serves as a liaison for HR-related inquiries and is responsible for various functional areas including recruiting, onboarding, policy implementation, and ensuring employee compliance. The role is part-time, with the potential for transitioning to full-time after a trial period of 90 days. In this position, you will facilitate effective communication between managers and employees regarding company policies, practices, and initiatives. You will also be involved in recruiting and staffing logistics, monitoring and supporting compliance training programs, and collaborating with HR and Leadership teams to assist with employee relations investigations and documentation. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations is essential, as is organizing and maintaining personnel records with a high level of confidentiality. Additionally, you will ensure the timely completion and accuracy of reports, databases, and filings, while providing operational and administrative support in other areas of HR as needed. This includes responding to employee questions on various HR processes and procedures. As a team player, you will contribute to creating a positive work environment and may be assigned other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) required.
  • Progress toward a Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in an HR or administrative capacity preferred.
  • Experience in payroll programs preferred.
  • Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands.
  • Creative and resourceful thinker.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
