About the position

The HR/Payroll Assistant will support the daily operations of the Human Resources and Payroll Department, serving as a liaison for HR-related inquiries. This part-time role involves responsibilities in recruiting, onboarding, policy implementation, and ensuring employee compliance, with the potential for transition to full-time after a trial period of 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate effective communication between managers and employees on company policies, practices, and initiatives.
  • Manage recruiting and staffing logistics.
  • Monitor, track, and support compliance training programs.
  • Collaborate with HR and Leadership teams to assist with employee relations investigations and documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Organize and maintain personnel records with confidentiality.
  • Ensure timely completion and accuracy of reports, databases, and filings.
  • Provide operational and administrative support in other HR areas as needed.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding various HR processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment as a team player.

Requirements

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Progress toward a Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in an HR or administrative capacity preferred.
  • Experience in payroll programs preferred.
  • Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands.
  • Creative and resourceful thinker.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
