About the position

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing various HR functions including benefits administration, personnel file maintenance, and employee relations within a healthcare setting. This role ensures compliance with EEO regulations, assists in recruitment and hiring processes, and maintains accurate HRIS records. The coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the nursing department's staffing needs and fostering a positive work environment for employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform benefits administration and maintain personnel files.
  • Assist in employee relations and address employee inquiries regarding payroll and scheduling.
  • Maintain HRIS records and generate reports as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with EEO regulations by maintaining necessary records and logs.
  • Coordinate staffing for the nursing department based on budget and census requirements.
  • Establish orientation schedules for new hires and facilitate their onboarding process.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including scheduling interviews and hiring new staff.
  • Prepare payroll data for computer input and assist in payroll processing.
  • Communicate HR, payroll, and staffing concerns to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain attendance records and report performance issues to the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Work with the Director of Nursing Services to schedule modified work duty employees according to facility policy.
  • Update nursing department employee records and track certifications and licenses.
  • Answer applicant inquiries regarding position availability and coordinate interviews.
  • Facilitate quality orientation programs for newly hired nursing personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Human Resources and Payroll practices required.
  • Experience in an HR role within a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to create a positive work atmosphere.
