About the position

The HR / Payroll Specialist will manage all aspects of Human Resources and payroll processing for approximately forty employees. This role involves recruiting, onboarding, and assisting employees with inquiries, as well as maintaining employee records and supporting financial operations alongside the Controller.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and onboarding of all new hires.
• Process and verify weekly payroll for approximately forty employees through the HRIS system, Paycor.
• Assist with employment-related inquiries from employees.
• Maintain DOT logs and files for drivers through a third party.
• Assist and notify employees of benefits.
• Reporting of workers' compensation claims with follow-up as needed.
• Maintain all employee files, I-9's, driver files.
• Assist with internal and external customer conflicts.
• Responsible for developing and implementing procedures for all divisions.
• Assist with financial close and other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Paycor and or iCIMS experience a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• 3-5 years of payroll experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Bilingual - Basic to Intermediate user of Spanish.
