About the position

The HR/Payroll Specialist at Pat N Sally Inc. is responsible for supporting payroll operations in compliance with federal, state, and city laws. This role involves auditing payroll, creating reports, and ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of payroll data. The specialist will work closely with the Higher Education Officer and the Associate Higher Education Officer to implement payroll policies and manage various payroll-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll operations in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Audit payroll and create reports using various information systems.
• Assist in the administration of payroll provisions of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Work independently and maintain confidentiality in payroll matters.
• Collaborate with diverse staff to ensure effective payroll processing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and city payroll laws and regulations.
• Experience with payroll systems, particularly PeopleSoft and NYC CHRMS.
• Strong analytical, evaluative, and research skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Access, and Word.
• High degree of professionalism and integrity.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating and running queries in NYS OSC PSQuery systems.
• Knowledge of client titles, classification systems, and coding structures in NYC or NYS payroll systems.
