About the position

Heritage Landcare is looking for a motivated HR Recruiter and Onboarding Specialist to manage the recruitment process and facilitate the onboarding of new employees. This role focuses on attracting qualified candidates and ensuring a smooth transition for new hires across various locations in the Midlands, Charleston, and Upstate regions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular communication with hiring managers and the HR team to align on recruitment needs and strategies.
  • Post job openings on relevant platforms and attend local and regional job fairs to boost recruiting outreach.
  • Weekly review of resumes and applications based on hiring manager criteria; compile a top 10 candidate list for hiring manager to review.
  • Conduct pre-screening interview calls with selected candidates and schedule in-person interviews with candidates aligning with the hiring manager's schedule.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to negotiate and extend job offers via email or other acceptable forms of communication.
  • Conduct reference checks, verify qualifications, and initiate background checks and pre-employment drug screens.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires using the current HR platform, ensuring timely completion of required onboarding documents.
  • Create new hire packets and maintain a clear checklist for all new hires throughout the onboarding process.
  • Track and manage the new employee progress in the training program and serve as a point contact for newly hired employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and onboarding progress using the recruitment platform in INOVA.
  • Order and manage new hire uniforms and inventory of uniform supplies.
  • Stay updated on recruitment and onboarding trends and suggest process enhancements.
  • Assist the HR team with file management and other related tasks as needed.
  • Conduct 45/90 day employee assessments and provide feedback to HR.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Heritage University Training Program.
  • Help with the administration of the H2B worker program.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in recruitment and onboarding processes, preferably in a similar industry (minimum of 1 year).
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruitment software (experience with INOVA/UKG software is a plus).
  • Experience with public speaking or speaking to large groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with new candidates and existing employees.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Google suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with INOVA/UKG software is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to Charleston and Upstate Locations when needed with a potential need for occasional overnight stays.
