About the position

The HR Recruiting Specialist at Adult Learning Systems - Lower Michigan, Inc. is responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing and recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates for various positions within the organization. This role involves managing the recruitment process, onboarding new employees, and ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures related to hiring.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements sourcing and recruiting strategies to identify and attract qualified candidates.
• Assists with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, phone screening candidates, and performing reference checks.
• Schedules meetings and interviews and coordinates with hiring supervisors.
• Enters new hires and pertinent information into the HR system, including enrolling new hire information.
• Responsible for sending out all related communications to new hires and ongoing communication to all employees.
• Onboards new employees and conducts E-verify for new hires.
• Maintains and audits I-9 paperwork; conducts background checks and motor vehicle reports, making appropriate corrections and following regulatory procedures.

Requirements

• Associate degree in human resources or a minimum of 1 year experience in an HR position.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and ADP software systems preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage priorities and handle a demanding workload.
• High level of initiative, motivation, and a positive learning attitude.
