About the position

The HR Recruitment Specialist/Sr. Recruiter at NY CREATES plays a crucial role in supporting the recruitment needs of the organization. This position involves managing the entire recruitment and onboarding process, serving as the first point of contact for prospective candidates, and ensuring a smooth transition for new hires into the company. The role requires collaboration with hiring managers, participation in recruitment events, and effective communication with applicants throughout the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective candidates.
  • Prepare search materials and post job positions.
  • Coordinate and participate in recruitment activities to promote NY CREATES career opportunities.
  • Guide search committees through the applicant screening process.
  • Pre-screen applicants and respond to applicant inquiries.
  • Negotiate offers and prepare/send offer letters.
  • Initiate and review background checks and coordinate onboarding activities.
  • Prepare and compile necessary new hire information and forms, including I9 verifications and export compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 years of recruitment experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of recruitment experience.
  • People-oriented and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience sourcing candidates from recruitment tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed.
  • Working experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Demonstrated discretion in interactions and flexibility with shifting priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7+ years of recruitment experience.
  • Experience writing job descriptions and job postings.
  • Experience using social media for recruitment functions.
