About the position

The HR Site Lead at Plug Power is responsible for supporting multiple sites by addressing matters that impact the workforce and organizational culture. This role serves as a subject matter expert in employee lifecycle management, including performance management, employee engagement, and compliance. The HR Site Lead collaborates with various departments and HR Centers of Excellence to ensure operational excellence and foster a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong HR generalist background, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates support for designated departments by partnering with HR Centers of Excellence and Global HR Business Partners.
  • Partners with support groups to enable leadership development and readiness to support organizational goals.
  • Supports leaders with career development resources to foster employee growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Collaborates with support groups to enhance employee engagement and retention through survey results and actions.
  • Assists HR Leadership with change management initiatives, preparing and equipping employees and leaders for successful transitions.
  • Supports talent planning and succession efforts to build a strong talent pipeline.
  • Interfaces with leaders to build relationships, improve employee morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Partners with leaders on performance management, encouraging goal setting and ongoing feedback.
  • Conducts exit and stay interviews, analyzes data, and recommends improvements to HR leadership.
  • Collaborates with Global Talent Acquisition on recruitment efforts for assigned departments.
  • Partners with Employee Relations to execute recommendations from investigations and assist with conducting investigations.
  • Facilitates HR training for management on leadership, HR policy, compliance, and employee engagement.
  • Administers various HR policies and procedures and maintains knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Participates in special HR projects to maintain positive employer-employee relationships and morale.
  • Develops strong collaboration with internal clients and staff across departments.
  • Promotes a culture of employee engagement and a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in Human Resources in a generalist capacity.
  • Experience as the single point of HR contact at a manufacturing facility is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Experience with employee relations and investigations is required.
  • Experience in a technology, engineering, or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • SHRM certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Experience with Workday is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
