About the position

The HR Specialist (Classification/Recruitment & Placement) position within the Department of Defense is responsible for providing expert guidance on civilian personnel laws and regulations, ensuring effective recruitment and placement processes, and managing position classification programs. The role involves coordinating project goals, developing HR management plans, and addressing complex HR issues across the IMCOM enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide authoritative interpretation and instructions on Civilian Personnel laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and monitor efforts to ensure timely and accurate completion of project goals and objectives related to recruitment and placement and position classification program areas.
  • Develop HR and civilian personnel management plans of action, milestones, and exit criteria.
  • Plan and carry out complete projects involving a specific Civilian HR area or portions of broader studies to resolve controversial issues or problems across the IMCOM-enterprise.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, including participation in the development, execution, evaluation, and oversight of civilian HR programs in recruitment and placement and position management/classification.
  • Experience performing recruitment and placement tasks involving employment policy, authorities, and programs, workforce shaping, and OCONUS employment programs.
