About the position

The HR Specialist (Military) position at the Department of Defense involves serving as the regional Personnel Accountability Program Manager for the Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System. This role is crucial for ensuring disaster accountability oversight for military and civilian personnel. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of military HRM concepts, laws, and policies, and the ability to analyze and recommend improvements in regulatory and procedural practices. This is a TERM position not to exceed 13 months, with potential for further employment based on performance and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the regional Personnel Accountability Program Manager for the Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPAAS).
  • Provide disaster accountability oversight for all military and civilian personnel.
  • Analyze military HRM concepts, laws, policies, and practices to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare human resources documentation and correspondence related to personnel actions.
  • Coordinate military personnel programs and ensure compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience in military personnel programs and reviewing personnel actions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Education or experience in Human Resources Management or related fields.
