The HR Specialist (Military) serves as a key member of the Human Resources team, directly supporting the Chief of Human Resources in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, and the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller. This role is pivotal in applying data analytics concepts to create comprehensive reports and presentations that inform leadership decisions regarding personnel strength, promotions, and talent management. The HR Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with readiness requirements and plays a crucial role in the overall personnel management strategy for military officers. In this position, the HR Specialist will act as a subject matter expert on military personnel actions, particularly focusing on the Assignment Interactive Module 2.0 (AIM2) for Officer Talent Management and the HQDA Prepositioned Selection lists. The role also involves expertise in the transition to the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPSA), which is essential for modernizing personnel management processes. The HR Specialist will engage with various elements throughout the agency, providing assistance to operating personnel and management officials as needed, ensuring that all personnel actions are executed efficiently and effectively. The HR Specialist will also be responsible for advising senior leaders on military personnel management issues, managing personnel actions such as leave, passes, retirements, awards, and promotions. This position requires a deep understanding of current and proposed personnel management systems and policies, as well as the ability to provide technical guidance, training, and briefings to stakeholders. The HR Specialist will be evaluated on their competencies in HR Information Systems Application, Organizational Awareness, and Self Management, ensuring that they can navigate the complexities of military personnel management with expertise and professionalism.
