The HR Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting employees across various HR functions, ensuring that all HR data is accurate and timely for assigned business units. This position involves managing leave of absence administration, including answering employee questions and tracking updates related to FMLA, Disability, Workers Compensation, and other leave programs. The HR Specialist is also responsible for overseeing the on- and off-boarding processes, which includes conducting on-site orientations for new hires and ensuring that all necessary data is entered into the Kronos system accurately. In addition to these responsibilities, the HR Specialist will utilize the Fresh Service HR Ticketing system to monitor and respond to HR queries from managers, ensuring that they receive accurate information in a timely manner. This role requires regular updates and audits of employee records, particularly in relation to training and development programs, as well as managing payments for the Education Reimbursement and Employee Referral Programs. The HR Specialist will also be involved in recognizing employee milestones through anniversary awards and retirement programs, maintaining accurate personnel files, and assisting with company events and employee engagement initiatives. Compliance with employment laws and regulations is essential, as is the maintenance of current compliance posters within the facility. The HR Specialist will also be expected to participate in special projects as needed for the PST and WBG business units, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the HR department.
