About the position

The HR Specialist 3 position within the Office of Human Resources is responsible for managing various human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws. This role plays a critical part in supporting the organization's HR strategies and ensuring a positive work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, and conducting interviews.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct employee onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Facilitate employee training and development opportunities.
  • Handle employee relations issues and provide conflict resolution support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practices.
