About the position

The HR Specialist at WGNSTAR plays a crucial role in supporting onboarding, orientation, and various HR activities across the organization. This position is designed to enhance the employee experience while ensuring compliance with HR regulations and company policies. The HR Specialist will work closely with the HR team and management to facilitate smooth HR operations and contribute to the company's core values.

Responsibilities

• Manage all activities supporting onboarding, orientation, badging interface, I-9s, benefit administration, HRIS maintenance, and pre-employment screenings.
• Support administrative and maintenance transactions in WGNSTAR and/or client systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards and process controls.
• Prepare reports and audit documentation as needed, supporting scheduled reporting requirements and metrics.
• Guide and collaborate with management and employees in support of WGNSTAR culture and Core Values.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property requirements and best practices.
• Support day-to-day functions of the HR department in a multi-state environment.

Requirements

• 1-2 years prior experience in HR or administrative roles.
• Knowledge of HR laws and regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency in HR Software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Paylocity or Fieldglass is a plus.
• High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other staff, employees, and managers.
• Strong sense of urgency in both action and communication.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity.

Nice-to-haves
