About the position

The HR Specialist at The Odom Corporation plays a crucial role in providing clerical support to the Human Resources team, focusing on managing workers' compensation claims, drug screening programs, and maintaining employee records. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills to effectively liaise between employees and third-party administrators, ensuring compliance with various regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage Workers Compensation for the Company, including processing claims and ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Review each claim for accuracy and validity, and provide necessary information to the claims TPA.
• Act as a liaison between the Company and Employee regarding workers' compensation claims.
• Maintain records and manage the lifecycle of each claim, including tracking provider visits and leave.
• Prepare and maintain OSHA records/logs.
• Manage the drug screening program, including pre-employment and post-accident screenings.
• Create employee identification badges and process verifications of employment.
• Audit drug test bills for accuracy and manage payments.
• Perform general office duties such as maintaining electronic personnel records and assisting with correspondence.
• Assist with special projects and participate in HR staff meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise and tact.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Human Resources and Workers Compensation is helpful but not required.
• Working knowledge of an HRIS system preferred.
