About the position

The HR Specialist - Employee Relations & Compliance at Susquehanna University is responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive work environment by managing employee relations and ensuring compliance with HR regulations. This role involves investigating employee concerns, providing guidance on policies and employment law, and supporting Title IX initiatives. The position is essential for maintaining a workplace where all employees can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the intake and management of employee relations reports, including Title VI and VII cases.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations of complaints.
  • Lead employee relations initiatives for faculty and staff, including mediation, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure the university's compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage the rollout and LMS for annual compliance training initiatives.
  • Represent Human Resources on subcommittees related to employment matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience, or an associate's degree with five years of experience, or seven years of experience with no degree.
  • Proven experience in managing a progressive disciplinary process and conducting employee relations investigations.
  • Proficiency in report writing and excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves
