The HR Specialist, Systems & Analytics, is a key member of the HR leadership team for Canada and USA. They will bring expertise in the area of systems, metrics, analysis, and reporting for HR, Payroll, Benefits, and related areas. With a hands-on approach, they will ensure that our systems are maintained and leveraged to achieve the overall objectives of ALS and the regional HR team as well as to provide reporting and analysis in support of the business needs. They will also drive the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities. Specific Responsibilities include providing support, education, and training for users on systems related to HR including Ceridian Dayforce, ADP WFN, Saba LMS, iCIMS ATS, Power BI, and Workday. The specialist will respond to various internal and external requests for reporting and metrics from HR-related systems including EEO, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Statistics Canada. They will lead various HR projects including systems implementation, system optimization, and systems integrations/interfaces. The role also involves analyzing HR data and generating reports, metrics, and dashboards to support HR analytics and data-driven decision-making. Additionally, the specialist will serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to HR systems and provide timely resolution or escalate issues as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support, education, and training for users on systems related to HR including Ceridian Dayforce, ADP WFN, Saba LMS, iCIMS ATS, Power BI, and Workday.
  • Respond to various internal and external requests for reporting and metrics from HR-related systems including EEO, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Statistics Canada.
  • Lead various HR projects including systems implementation, system optimization, and systems integrations/interfaces.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and work with internal and external stakeholders to build, present, and implement project plans.
  • Analyze HR data and generate reports, metrics, and dashboards to support HR analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to HR systems and provide timely resolution or escalate issues as necessary.
  • Identify, implement and support initiatives related to data management, data/systems security, and data integrity.
  • Ensure that the configuration of HR-related systems is aligned with the organization's payroll and business processes.
  • Provide guidance on efficient and practical business process design and improvements.
  • Perform functional testing on all aspects of enhancements, modifications and new processes related to HR system changes across all modules, and ensure error-free implementation.
  • Oversee system enhancements including new functionality rollouts and modifications of existing functionality, and integrations.
  • Investigate and resolve complex system-related issues and quickly escalate for timely resolution.
  • Audit data for accuracy and integrity.
  • Combine data from various systems for reporting of business metrics, provide analysis of data, and contribute to the identification of business opportunities.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and other external service providers to ensure support for systems initiatives and improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience with a variety of HR-related systems across jurisdictions in Canada and USA: Ceridian Dayforce, ADP WFN, Saba LMS, iCIMS ATS, and Workday.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with systems and processes related to payroll, benefits, and retirement plans in Canada and USA.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with HR business processes and programs (e.g. payroll, time, compensation, HR administration, recruitment, and performance management).
  • Time-management skills and strong work ethic with the ability to clearly define priorities and adjust based on business requirements.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to present HR-related data, metrics, and reports in a business-centric manner with analysis of ROI opportunities.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to build credibility and confidence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Driver of innovation and business improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of a diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent is preferred.
  • Designation in HR, payroll, benefits, or related areas is preferred.
  • Certification project management and in key systems is an asset (e.g. Ceridian Dayforce, ADP WFN, and Workday).
