About the position

The HR Specialist I position at the Tulalip Tribes is a full-time role focused on supporting the implementation of human resources practices and objectives. The specialist will provide administrative and technical assistance to employees, emphasizing engagement and empowerment while maintaining high performance and quality standards in alignment with the organization's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of HR practices and objectives.
  • Provide administrative and technical assistance to employees.
  • Emphasize employee engagement and empowerment.
  • Maintain high performance, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Uphold policies and procedures in line with Tulalip's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).
  • Two (2) years' working experience with Human Resources.
  • Two (2) years working with confidential information.
  • Two (2) years working experience in complex office processes.
  • Two (2) years working experience interpreting policies and procedures.
  • Two (2) years office experience, including office equipment and record keeping.
  • Two (2) years working experience with a Time Management System (Kronos, TimeIPS, etc.).
  • Typing speed of 30 WPM.

Nice-to-haves

  • HIPAA certification upon hire.
  • Tribal Human Resource Professional Certification (THRP I or THRP II) - will allow one (1) year to obtain.
