About the position

FIC America Corp. is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to manage various HR functions including salary payroll, workers' compensation, FMLA, and leaves of absence (LOA). This role involves handling HR requests, ensuring compliance with company policies, and providing guidance to managers on employee concerns. The position is crucial for maintaining effective HR operations within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle worker's compensation administration and manage claims
  • Prepare necessary documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Explain the LOA process and direct employees to the company who handles our LOA claims
  • Responsible for salary payroll
  • Review and verify payroll data to ensure accuracy
  • Assist employees with issues and questions regarding time off, accruals, and leaves of absence
  • Work with departmental personnel to assist with workflow and perform general administrative duties
  • Handle a broad range of HR requests
  • Provide guidance to managers in how to handle employee concerns
  • Manage details and coordination of disciplinary discussions, termination, and investigations
  • Follow standard work instructions
  • Assist with various reporting
  • Perform other duties assigned
  • Comply with FIC's Safety policies and procedures
  • Comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and standards
  • Perform 5-S activities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of HR Specialist experience OR a combination of professional experience AND Human Resources certificate OR degree
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Ensure professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the role
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Workers Compensation experience preferred
  • Leave of Absence experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual and fluent proficiency written and spoken Spanish/English is preferred
  • Human Resources experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred
  • Must have proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Must be willing to cross-train
  • Must be able to work company's required overtime
  • Must comply with FIC's Attendance and Punctuality Policy
