About the position

The HR Specialist at Ultium Cells will play a crucial role in establishing and enforcing HR practices that support the hiring, development, and retention of employees. This position aims to foster a productive and positive work environment while addressing employee relations and performance management issues.

Responsibilities

  • Coach/counsel employees, supervisors, and team leadership on employee relations and performance-related topics.
  • Conduct investigations as needed.
  • Monitor team-level headcount gaps and partner with leadership to determine solutions.
  • Facilitate and advise on performance management processes including corrective actions, separations, and goal setting.
  • Conduct retention checks and track/report results to identify trends and implement solutions.
  • Manage policies and procedures, identifying and implementing revisions to drive positive culture change.
  • Participate in bi-monthly Strategic Talent Review meetings.
  • Analyze turnover and team-level trends, partnering with leadership to drive improvements.
  • Guide leadership in organizational structure decisions and changes.
  • Encourage participation in Rewards & Recognition programs.
  • Facilitate team-level engagement events and activities.
  • Maintain a frequent presence on the production floor and know team members by name.
  • Participate in monthly meetings for assigned areas and attend production/staff meetings as needed.
  • Determine topics for Supervisor meetings and facilitate training.
  • Lead discussions in HR meetings and identify opportunities for stay interviews and focus groups.
  • Field questions regarding policies, benefits, and pay, identifying trends.

Requirements

  • HR related degree, certification(s), or equivalent experience.
  • 2 - 3+ years of HR Business Partner or Generalist experience in a manufacturing company.
  • Experience supporting business at both individual contributor and leadership levels.
  • Professional HR certification(s) preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills.

  • Experience in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
