About the position

The HR Specialist - Payroll at Absolute Storage Management, Inc. is responsible for managing the payroll process and providing various HR administrative duties. This remote position requires a detail-oriented individual to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role also involves supporting other HR functions such as benefits administration, workers' compensation, and employee onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete payroll cycle, including payroll maintenance and processing supplemental payrolls.
  • Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.
  • Process all team member change of statuses, including termination documentation.
  • Support the performance review process.
  • Assist with the Workers' Compensation program, including submitting claims and following up on team member return to work status.
  • Support the company's unemployment program by submitting records and monitoring claims status.
  • Assist with the company's benefits program and respond to team member questions.
  • Manage the Leave of Absence program and send FMLA letters as needed.
  • Provide payroll data for operations budgets and review for accuracy.
  • Assist with compliance audits and provide necessary reports.
  • Lead the company anniversary program and manage the ASM virtual store.
  • Process verification of employment requests.
  • Manage company forms in SharePoint and the Resource Library.
  • Maintain team member records and files.
  • Oversee team member awards and gift programs.
  • Lead the exit interview program and report trends to the HR Director.
  • Coordinate company meetings and events, including operational team meetings and HR events.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and orientation as needed.

Requirements

  • Understanding of payroll-related deductions and current payroll procedures.
  • Familiarity with payroll software/HRIS (SAP, ADP, Kronos) and MS Office (Excel).
  • Keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and act with integrity and confidentiality.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Accounting is a plus.
  • 2+ years of full-cycle payroll experience with strong experience in payroll processing software.
  • Experience with multi-state employers is a plus.
  • Remote work experience is required.
