About the position

As an HR Specialist in Payroll at Dot Foods, you will play a crucial role in processing the payroll for company employees, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies. Your primary responsibilities will include processing weekly, bonus, and special payrolls in accordance with government regulations and tax codes. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential employee payroll records, monitoring and auditing time and attendance inputs, and tracking payroll accrual information. Additionally, you will post and monitor all employee payroll deductions and earnings, and prepare company payroll tax returns, deposits, and annual employee W2s. You will also be the point of contact for managers and employees regarding any payroll-related inquiries or concerns. This position requires a combination of independent work and teamwork, as you will need to collaborate with other departments while also managing your own tasks. You will be expected to apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of your responsibilities. The role is full-time, with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and may require occasional overtime or holiday work to meet payroll deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Process company employee payroll, including taxes and reports for regulatory compliance and management purposes, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Process weekly, bonus, and special payrolls according to company policy and in accordance with government regulations and tax codes.
  • Update and maintain employee payroll records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Monitor and audit time and attendance inputs for accuracy and compliance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Track appropriate payroll accrual information.
  • Post and monitor all employee payroll deductions and earnings.
  • Process and prepare company payroll tax returns, deposits, and annual employee W2s.
  • Respond to manager and employee inquiries regarding any payroll issues or concerns.
  • Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree.
  • Trustworthiness to handle sensitive, confidential information.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees and other departments.
  • Basic computer skills and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Customer service skills to serve employees in an appropriate manner.
  • Knowledge or experience working with Accounting material.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
