About the position

The HR Specialist - Records Custodian will serve as an integral member of the HR team at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. This full-time position is focused on ensuring the accuracy and compliance of employee records, which is critical for the onboarding process of new hires. The specialist will be responsible for auditing new hire files to ensure they meet compliance standards and will provide backup support to the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) as needed. This role also involves facilitating the processing of information relevant to employee recordkeeping, ensuring that all records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and ongoing professional licensure standards. In addition to recordkeeping, the HR Specialist will participate as a member of the HR Audit Committee, contributing to the annual employee performance evaluation process. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. The HR Specialist will also be expected to communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new employees and to uphold the integrity of the HR records management system.

Responsibilities

  • Audit new hire files for compliance during the onboarding process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources preferred or equivalent related experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of previous Human Resources records management experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in an HR & Payroll database system is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail and task-oriented with high energy.
