About the position

The HR Specialist for Recruitment and Onboarding at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) plays a crucial role in managing the recruitment and onboarding processes. This position involves collaborating with hiring managers to create job postings, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, a customer-service orientation, and the ability to handle time-sensitive tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and market job positions in collaboration with hiring managers.
  • Source candidates through job boards and career events.
  • Schedule interviews and conduct pre-employment checks.
  • Make verbal and written job offers to selected candidates.
  • Facilitate on-site onboarding for new hires at state-operated facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field with two years of professional experience in human resources management.
  • Master's degree in a related field with one year of professional experience in human resources management.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for job-related purposes.
