About the position

The HR Specialist - Recruitment and Onboarding at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is responsible for managing the full spectrum of recruiting and onboarding functions. This includes collaborating with hiring managers to develop job positions, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting pre-employment checks, and facilitating onboarding processes at state-operated facilities. The role requires strong organizational skills, a customer-service focus, and the ability to handle time-sensitive tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and market job positions in collaboration with hiring managers.
  • Source candidates using job boards and by attending career events.
  • Schedule interviews and conduct pre-employment checks.
  • Make verbal and written job offers to selected candidates.
  • Facilitate on-site onboarding processes at state-operated facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in human resources management, or a master's degree in a related field with one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to fulfill job-related travel requirements with a valid driver's license.
