About the position

The HR Specialist at Commercial Lightning Protection LLC is responsible for managing recruitment, payroll, and employee retention initiatives. This role is crucial in shaping the workforce and enhancing employee satisfaction through effective talent acquisition, payroll management, and engagement strategies. The HR Specialist will work closely with department heads to align hiring needs and ensure compliance with labor laws while fostering a positive company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Partner with department heads to understand hiring needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Implement and refine candidate assessment methods to ensure we hire the best talent for each role.
  • Oversee comprehensive payroll processing, including handling Certified Payroll and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting for OCIP and CCIP requirements.
  • Maintain employee records and manage benefits administration, coordinating with insurance providers and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Support finance teams in budget forecasting and generate accurate payroll reports for leadership review.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive culture.
  • Conduct regular surveys and feedback sessions to identify areas of improvement.
  • Create development and training programs that support employee growth and retention.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies.
  • Manage employee relations and resolve workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Support HR leadership with special projects and organizational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on recruitment and payroll, preferably within a construction or project-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of Certified Payroll and experience managing OCIP/CCIP payroll reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with HR software (e.g., BambooHR, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
